PALMA UT INCENDIA DIABOLUS

ACTIVITIES

We do not just let our dogues to lay around on a couch. We stimulate them physically and mentally every day with a multitude of activities including Shutzhund training, swimming, hiking, obedience training, tracking, cart / sled pulling, etc. By promoting physically and mentally well balanced and sound dogues, we hope to constantly improve the quality of our line and ultimately, the breed.

We are working on creating lines that are true to the breed type but have the robustness and health of working lines.

In 2013 we were able to get our dogues their own piece of heaven - a 5 acre property surrounded by hundreds of acres of pasture and woods. Although the neighbor's cows created quite a stir at first, the babies and the heifers are getting along now.

SHOWS

We go to shows in order to network, see what's out there, and meet like-minded breeder's and enthusiasts. We do not campaign our dogs to shows every weekend and we do not support the corrupt politics that are burdening the show world.

Unfortunately, we have witnessed numerous occasions when the placed dogues are not placed due to being of superior quality but due to influences of the handlers, breeders, or other individuals. This is something that will make any true bordeaux lover cringe -  championing dogues that are sick, of poor quality, or untrue to the standard is not "for the love of the breed".

In the hope for cleaner events, in 2011 we started building up some of the AKC shows in NC - we like to stay more local because it is less stress on our dogues as well as on us. This year we created the "South East Bordeaux Shows" Facebook group which we hope will serve as a good way to get more true bordeaux breeders and enthusiasts involved.

FUN UPDATES:

Update - March 2014 -  it was interesting to see dogs being "judged" while the judge's back is turned. I guess we could only hope that they would at least pretend that they are doing their job.
